He was Daniel Berg who was born in Redwing, Minnesota USA.
Minnie F Hughes and Daniel Berg were married in Folkestone in 1915 and soon after moved to America settling first in Fargo North Dakota, where their eldest child Sybil was born, before later moving to Winnipeg and finally Vancouver, Canada.
Daniel died in Vancouver 21 Nov 1944 whilst Minnie lived to the age of 88 years and died 22 Dec 1981 Vancouver BC.
