In the Name of God, Amen, on the last day of November in the year of the lord 1507 and in the 23rd year of the reign of King Henry VII, I, William Kaylwey, knight, being of sound mind and sane memory, make my will in this manner. First of all, I bequeath my soul to almighty God, my creator, and to the blessed Mary, my mother, and to all his saints. And my body to be buried in the chancel of St Andrew of Rokeborne on the right side of the tomb of Lady Joan, late my wife. Item, I bequeath to the mother church of St Swithin, Winchester, 3s 4d. Item, I bequeath to the aforesaid church of Rokeborne and towards the sustentation and repair of the same church 20s. I bequeath to the use and behoof of the highest altar of the same church of Rokeborne 6s 8d. Item, I will and ordain that immediately after my decease a certain honest chaplain is appointed to celebrate continually throughout seven years immediately after my decease for the salvation of my soul and of the souls of my parents and friends in the said church of St Andrew or in the chapel of my manor of Rokeborne. The rest of all my goods not bequeathed, my debts being paid in full, I give and bequeath to John Kaylwey, my son, and the same John I ordain and make my sole executor of this my will to execute that, just as shall seem the better to him to carry out. "License of entry without proof of age" was granted to John Caylewaye, son & heir of William Caylewaye, Knight, tenant in chief on the manor of Rockborne, 5 cottages called Gorleigh, a tenement in the city of Winchester & manors or lordships of Combysett & Ferneham (Vernham) & a tenement in le Devyses, Wilts, a messuage called Westworth & a messuage in parish of St. Leonard's, Exeter, Devon [Ref.
